Peregrine Project is a non-profit corporation
which was created as an umbrella organization for the creation of a
school for children and an education and research center. The
school and center will focus on the integration of education and wellness
in children and families, with an emphasis on liberal and fine arts;
scientific, environmental and technological literacy; multiple language
acquisition; physical, cognitive and emotional health and development;
and civic participation in local and international communities.
Escuelita, a project learning nursery school classroom
with an emphasis on Spanish language, is the first program launched
by the Peregrine Project.
Primaria, which opened in September 2008, is a project-based,
child-driven Pre-K/Kindergarten class. Also in formation
is Peregrine International, a group which will run service learning
international trips for teens.
Peregrine Elementary will open a combination grade 1&2
class in Fall 2010. The school will grow with the children, and expand
through at least grade 6 in the next few years.
